Hello Lovelies!
I’m here with my first OOTD and obviously im so nervous!
This is actually not just a OOTD but also a round-up of one of the beautiful places in Chennai. This place is called Dakshinachithra, a place that portraits South Indian tradition and culture (it covers the tradition and culture of 4 South Indian states – Tamil nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh).
A little about the
place:
DakshinaChitra is a center for the living traditions of
art, folk performing arts, craft and architecture of India with an emphasis on
the traditions of South India. A project of the Madras Craft Foundation (MCF),
a non-profit organisation. DakshinaChitra opened to the public in
December 1996. The center occupies ten undulating acres overlooking the Bay of
Bengal, at Muttukadu, twenty five kilometers south of Chennai, on the East
Coast Road to Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, India.
More here:
The place was really a treat for eyes. It was so calm and
green. Really a lovely place to visit this summer :D
And now coming to the outfit, since it was a traditional
place I went with a traditional and simple Anarkali chudidhar in Green and
Maroon combination. I’m a big jewellery freak, so I teamed it up with a dark
brown Hasli pendant and a dangler in same metal studded with green and dark
pink stones. Also I wore a metal ring studded with a big red stone to
compliment with my neck piece and earring :D
Just made a collage to avoid making the post picture heavy
(but still it is)
The antique lamp
The most beautiful wooden window of Kerala type house
This was my most favorite spot in the place :). Please excuse the bad lighting :(
A wide view of the Kerala type wooden house
Another lovely spot there – The Muttram of Tamil nadu house
The wooden horse
A random click – We bought this small drum kinda thing which
produces sound when rotated – the one im holding in hand). There are also many
craft shops here which sells jewellery made of silk thread, metal jewellery,
cotton & silk sarees, kundan jewellery, wooden craft pieces etc.
And finally here comes the lazy meow - :D
This cat was feeling so lazy that, even when I went near and
touched it, it opened its eyes for a couple of seconds, gazed at me and went
back to sleep ignoring me!!
