A BB Cream I Love :)

Basically I’m not a foundation or concealer person and mostly I don’t prefer layering anything on my face. Frankly I’m the colourful makeup person who ignores base makeup. But these days I have started getting acne and I’m left with their marks on my right cheeks :( While trying out home remedies to treat them, meanwhile I wanted to hide them as they are very visible in pictures. I personally feel that foundations are bit heavy and so I prefer only a normal day cream for everyday use.

It was the time when BB creams were in vogue and as a start I wanted to try out the cheaper and easier one available. Ponds launched their BB+ cream then and no thinking after that. It was in my hands :D
What is a BB Cream?

BB cream stands for blemish balm, blemish base and in Western markets, beauty balm. BB cream is an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage.

My Views on Ponds BB+ cream:

Though I have tried few foundations in the past this is the first BB cream I have ever tried and it would be the last too – because it gives me what I want :)
I love its sleek tube packaging the most. It is easy to handle and can fit into your zipper purses easily – travel friendly packaging :) The nozzle is sturdy enough and honestly the packaging is catchy.
The cream is said to have whitening properties, provides good coverage and comes with SPF 30 to prevent your skin from tanning and photo ageing.

The cream has a satiny finish and spreads on easily. It isn’t light but lighter than your foundations. It needs a little blending to get the required coverage.

The best part is the cream provides excellent coverage and it is capable of covering all the marks on my right cheek. Big hit! It also helps in preventing your skin from getting tanned but don’t expect any whitening effects. It gives you bouncy and smooth skin just in a minute. I don’t have dark circles and so cannot comment on the concealing part but still when it can cover blemishes it definitely can conceal dark circles too :D

I have combination skin and my skin gets oily after 3-4 hours of application. I generally top off with my compact after applying the BB cream but even then the skin gets oily after few hours which is a downside. But I don’t mind as I can just touch it up with compact again and I’m all set. On the other hand it doesn’t provide enough moisture to the dry parts of my face too – so dry skin ladies will definitely need a moisturizer beneath and might not need to top off with powder.

And the biggest downside of this BB cream is – Hell its available in just ONLY ONE shade :(:( It looks a bit whitish on me if I apply thick layers (I rarely layer it on, I simply pat a few spots of it generally). So if you are bit dark\too fair, this wouldn’t suit your skintone! :(

Rose petals:

Sleek, pretty and travel friendly packaging
Gives good coverage, covers up minor scars and blemishes
Blends to give a semi-matte finish
Gives a natural glow
Stays on for a good time, would work for any skin type
Doesn’t clog pores unlike other foundations\BB creams
Comes with SPF 30 and PA++ protection

Need to work a little on blending
Not hydrating and doesn’t control oil secretion too
Available in only one shade

Rating: 4.8 out of 5
