Hello sweeties how was your day?
Mine is kinda boring as I’m working from home that too in night shift (a poor IT slave:( )!
Okies coming to today’s review meter – the review is going to be about a very cheap\affordable product which many of the school and college goers would love!

Yes, it is going to be a colored liner again which won’t burn a hole in your pocket :D It is the i  eyeliner by no-name company.

Price: 30 INR for 8 ml

I picked up this eyeliner from Saravana stores during my monthly grocery shopping thinking to try it out. We girls always get attracted :( [not our fault :P]. I picked it especially for its sleek and cute packaging.

Ingredients: Not mentioned

Shelf life: Not mentioned

Shades available: Black, brown, military green, copper (that’s all I found there)

Manufacturer: Again not specified.
The bottle has nothing engraved or printed except thename :(

So read on to know how it faired being so cheap!

I was so curious to test it immediately as I wanted to know how it works :P
Firstly it has a super sleek brush that helps in applying the liner wonderfully. A thin line is so easy to draw with it. Thicker lines would take few more strokes. The liner is little runny and doesn’t dry quick.

I tried swatching it on my hand first to make sure it isn’t allergic. And yes after 15 mins of application also it didn’t sting or irritate. So it passed QC 1 :P

QC 2 was water test. Alas it lost! It wasn’t water-resistant. But I don’t mind as many of my liners aren’t.

QC 3 – Apply on eyes.

It lasted for a good time of 2 hours and then it went off somewhere. Yes I didn’t even know whether it flaked off or smudged and spread all over my lids (didn’t find any trace of color in my lids) :(
So this is a low cost colored eyeliner that would come handy for a quick outing of an hour or two.

Beginners who would love to try colored liners – this is the best bet. You lose nothing really :D

It is a good product for school girls to try on and maybe to dress up your kids for a fancy dress compo :P
I would skip it :)

Rose Petals:

Budget friendly – you don’t even need a budget for it!
Cute packaging
Sturdy bottle and sleek brush – easy application
Dries with normal speed as compared to other liquid liners

Thorns:

Nothing mentioned on bottle, not even expiry date :(
Isn’t long lasting – stays only for 2 hours max.

Hello Lovelies!

This post is going to be very special as it is about a Special Edition nail enamel from L'Oreal Festive De Cannes Collection :)
Yes! It is Riviere Amethyst - A black base polish filled in with copper glitter of various sizes. The polishes in this range are so elegant and rich looking that every girl would love to own atleast one of these beauties. Of course, I'm a glad owner! :D

Price: 235 INR

Shades available: Copper Cuff (821), Bronze Parure (822), Riviere Amethyst (823), Flaming Sunset (824),Amethyst (827), Argent (828)

Packaging: The polish comes in a square bottle and the outer carton is so rich and elegant! Perfect to be named as Sunset collection :)

Let's move on to Riviere amethyst now! It is a beautiful black polish with hexa copper glitters of various sizes.

Isn't it looking festive kind? :)
Now coming to the brush, it has the worst ever brush i would say :( Yes, the bristles are long and wide. They don't help in even application and the polish gets on the cuticles how hard you try not to.

Apart from the flat big brush this polish has no other cons really. It lasts for 4 days without chipping (with top coat) and starts to chip after that. But without a top coat, you can't even trust it to stay for 24 hours even, it flakes and peels off!

So here are some swatches of the polish and some manicures to style it up :D

Summing up the pros and cons :)

Rose Petals:

Rich color, just 1-2 coats can fill in the nail completely
Festive kind - best for festives, night out, parties
Good choice of shades
The various sized glitters make it look so elegant and special

Thorns:

I feel it a bit pricey
Starts chipping easily without a top coat
The brush - a big dud!

Hello all MAUians! How are you doing today? :)

I’m going to review a very efficient and affordable eye primer today. It is the primer by Mary Kay that works very efficiently and helps in keeping your shadows without creasing for a whole day. Lets move on to the review to know more!

Product description:

• Dermatologically tested • Ophthalmologist tested • Suitable for sensitive eye area skin and for contact lens wearers • Fragrance-free •

Mary Kay Eye Primer extends the wear of eye color and prevents eye color from creasing or smudging.

How to use it:

Apply a small amount to the eyelid prior to applying eye color. Blend gently using your fingertip or q-tip.

Ingredients:
Water, talc, Isononyl isonoanoate, cyclopentasiloxane, Sorbitan isostearate, cetyl dimethicone, lauroyl lysine, PTFE, cyclohexasiloxane, Polyglyceryl-4 isostearate, propylene glycol, tocopheryl acetatae, retinyl palmitate, anthemis nobilis flower extract, lecithin, sphingolipids, ceramide 3, hexyl laurate, sodium chloride, hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydroxypropyl polysiloxane, sesame seed oil, beeswax, nylon-12, diazolidinyl urea, dimethiconol, ethylhexyl cocoate, methylparaben, propylparaben, phenoxyethanol, zinc oxide.

Packaging:

It comes in a beautiful grey tube packaging with a tiny nozzle that is easy to use and get the right amount of product.

Shelf life: 3 years

Price: I got it through GEB of Ebay last year for INR 560\Quantity: 8.5 g

My take on Mary Kay eye primer:

I got this primer last year through Ebay GlobalEasyBuy as I was in need of a good primer to use for functions. I have super oily lids and the shadow creases very soon leading to raccoon eyes.:(
The primer comes in a beautiful grayish silver tube with a sharp tiny nozzle that helps in taking out the product easily and the right quantity required.

The primer comes in white color unlike other primers that are skin colored. This is the special benefit of the primer as it doesn’t change the color of the shadow you apply:) It has a rich creamy texture so it wouldn’t be giving the drying feel on the lids. It feels a little greasy in the beginning but gets set post applying the shadow.

The shadow lays smudge free for a good time of 6 hours with this primer and starts creasing a little after that which is also not so worse.

Swatches:

Rose Petals:

  • Convenient packaging
  • Nice texture that helps keeping the lids moisturized too
  • White in color helps n preserving the shadow color
  • Shadow lasts for a good time without creasing

Thorns:

  • Can get only from international sites or Mary Kay representatives

Packaging: Tube packaging with flip cap as like other regular face washes

Texture: Creamy wash and lathers well

My Take on New Dove Go Fresh Face Wash:

All my face washes were over one day (big lie :P), ok I wanted to try the new dove face washes as soon as I came to know about them. And the other day, when I saw them in the shelves of the store I was totally tempted to buy one. I especially loved their sleek and glowy package.

I have already tried their old face wash range but wasn’t happy with them at all. But I couldn’t control my temptation after seeing the new launches (especially the nutrium moisture logo – see how metallic it is :D).

There were three new flavours and two of them were for oily skin (I guess). I was so happy as have oily T-zone and super oily lids. Until now all the drug store face washes I have tried kept my skin oil free only for 4 hours max and I didn’t expect more than that from this one too. But the claim that it controls sebum and stickiness on skin attracted me :) Also the peppy citrusy orange smell is heavenly – citrus fragrance lovers jump on :D

So here are the results ladies :D Yes! It really controls sebum and stickiness on your face and keeps your skin oil free for a good time of 7 hours (tested while at home in normal temperature and in office under AC and same effects in both cases). Also to my astonishment it controls oil for a great duration of 4 hours in outdoors. So this is a total love at first sight and first use wash.

Swatches:

Rose Petals:

Controls sebum and stickiness on skin for a good time of 6-7 hours
Lovely citrus fragrance
Creamy texture & lathers well (I love lather :D)
Reasonable price
Travel friendly packaging – the flip cap is tight enough

Thorns:

Literally no hate facts about it except that sometimes the cap is very tight to open :(

Do I recommend\Repurchase? Yes :)

Today I’m here to share with you the contents and details about my September vellvette bag. I know its damn too late (please don’t curse me :P). September ’13 was their 1st anniversary and so the bag was a big wait.

The first surprise was the beautiful bright red polka dotted pouch. Completely girly and adorable :)

I got 4 products in this bag. Read on to know what I received in my September vellvette bag.

This is a nude shaded gloss with glitter particles. I’m not a gloss person but would like to use lip glosses at random times. This gloss is little on the thicker side and stays long. Love it for now, lets see how it goes!

Full size: 890 INR for 2.9 ml

The Nature’s Co. Lavender Body Lotion (Sample)

It has a very mild fragrance which is quite good. I’m yet to try it out!

Compact Brush – the Anniversary Bonus :D

As a token of love for their first anniversary, the vellvette team has sent a beautiful compact hair brush with attached mirror to all the subscribers.
The mirror and brush is super compact and cute :) Best product of the bag :D

Now the piccys to have a look :)
