Hello all pretty ladies! How are you? :)
This is my first DIY here and I’m bit nervous as how it would turn up to be.
Among the latest hot Nail trends, Matte nails are on top these days. Many of us here are so fond of Matte nail paints and we really love having them on our nails. But there are only two options for us – either to get matte nail paint or a matte top coat. Matte nail paints are quiet affordable but we cannot collect them in all possible shades we love as we would end up spending all our money on them. Other way we can go ahead and get a Matte top coat but many of us here couldn’t afford for it as they are on the higher end pricewise.
So here comes the sparkling idea: Why not make your own matte top coat? :D
Yes, you can make your own matte top coat at a very affordable price (Maybe 20 to 30 INR). Enough of speaking lets picturize!!

Things required:
1. Your favourite nail paint in any color
2. A clear top coat (Cheaper the better)
3. Corn starch or Talcum powder
4. A bowl or trap for mixing
5. Qtips, cotton swabs, polish remover\removing pads to cleanup the mess

Here are the steps to make your own top coat:
Step 1: Make all the items ready and keep them handy.

Step 2: Paint your nails with your favourite nail polish.

Step 3: Take the bowl or tray and add in the required amount of clear top coat into it for mixing.
Caution: From here on, you will need to have a real fast hand as the mixture could dry up easily.
Step 4: Add the corn starch\talc with the top coat in the bowl.

A tip here: If you are lazy and don’t like to keep mixing it for each time, you can add the talc into your top coat bottle and shake it well.
Caution: The mattifying effect depends on the amount of talc you add – so be cautious as if it exceeds the required quantity then your nails might end up looking like pulled out of a tub of starch.
Step 5: Mix them well until you get the required consistency. It must look like a semi-white top coat.

Step 6: Apply this mixture evenly on your nails as like you apply your regular top coat and let it dry.

Step 7: Here are your Mattified nails :):D

Hi all lovely ladies!

How are you doing? Hope you're fine :)
This post is just a quick review about one of the most popular online shopping sites in India "Myntra".

On a top note, i love my nails so much but i have very feeble and brittle nails which break very often. :( So I'm on a verge to find some good products for my nails that would really help in strengthening them!

After so much of confusion, i decided to try Konad's nail hardener and cuticle remover as i found them promising and budget friendly as well ;)

So i was searching to buy them online and that is when i came across http://www.myntra.com/.

It is one of the popular online shopping sites in India which sells products of different categories like clothes, skin care and makeup products, footwear etc., As like all other sites, I saw these products here also with a little discounted price. But the shipping was Rs.59 (they offer free shipping only above Rs.799 :( ). I was little irritated by this as the total was already around 500 Rs and an extra 60 just laid me back (because there are sites which offer free shipping above Rs.350).

Then suddenly i noticed that there was some sale going on and found a discount code. Just tried it out and voila! around Rs.88 was reduced from my total. While comparing with other sites, this was lesser! :D So this is my story of ordering the products. :P

And here comes the best part i really wanted to share with you guys. I ordered them on 18th April, 2013 and received an email\sms immediately confirming my order and payment. And the next day (today) morning, i received an email\sms stating that the parcel is out for delivery with the delivery person name and mobile number. Isn't that super cool? :D Getting your order delivered within just 17-18 is exciting isn't it?? :D :D So i love Myntra.com.

And here is the eye candy (atleast for me :P). Btw, i love the packaging of these beauties very much! :)

Hi all pretty ladies here!
I’m here with a review about a wonderful product from Rimmel.
I was on a serious search of a good base coat and top coat for my nails as im too much into Nail art these days. While I was searching for it, I found this on an online site and voila, I started thinking “Why not try a 2 in 1 product instead spending on two different products?”
So I went ahead and ordered it. Read on to know how it worked out for me!

Price: 250 INR for 8 ML

What it claims:
Multi Benefit Nail Care - Rimmel London 5 in 1 Nail Treat Base & Top Coat is for smoother, stronger, longer, more moisturized and shinier nails.

What it contains:
butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, nitrocellulose, trimethyl pentanyl diisobutyrate, alcohol denat., phthalic anhydride/trimellitic anhydride/glycols copolymer, isopropyl alcohol, triphenyl phosphate, camphor, aqua/water/eau, diisobutyl adipate, acrylates copolymer, etocrylene, alumina, ascorbic acid, calcium pantothenate, hydrolyzed soy protein, hydrolyzed ulva lactuca extract, hydrolyzed wheat protein, maris sal/sea salt/sel marin, nylon-12, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, panthenol, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, retinyl palmitate, silk amino acids, tocopheryl acetate, bambusa vulgaris extract, aucoumea klaineana resin extract, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, d&c violet no. 2 (ci 60725)
[Uff! A very long list]

Coming on to the review, the polish comes in a regular round glass bottle with a white cap and golden prints. I really love the combination of white and gold on this. It is not so gooey or thick and not very thin as well – it has the right consistency being a top coat. The brush comes in white and is so soft that it is very convenient to be used. But when used on color nail paints, the brush does catch the color – so it needs to be cleaned often to have the brush white.

And as a top coat, this is one of the best top coats I have owned. It stands upto the claim and makes your nails look shinier. I used it on top of streetwear bronzed and the shine really lasted on for nearly a week (though I don’t do any hard work with my hands I was it many times a day). It didn’t dry so fast but the drying time was quiet normal as like all other regular top coats.

 On top of Streetwear bronzed

(sorry I forgot to click pics right after putting it on – this was taken a week later. I have very weak nails and no polish stands on it more than 2 days, it starts chipping :( but this one lasted without even a single chip for two whole weeks. So I guess the credits would go to the top coat)
And as a base coat, it did really a very good job helping my polish to spread on evenly. Also it prevents your nails from getting stained due to the intensive color of your nail polish.

The above pic is with the top coat on my bare nails. You can see how glossy it is :)

Petals:
  • Works as per the claims.
  • Very affordable as it acts as a 2 in 1 product – cost effective
  • Has no offensive smell – so no worries sensitive nose beauties :)
  • Not very thick and the brush is so convenient to use
Thorns:
  • The bristles are white and needs a cleanup if you want it to be white
  • A very long list of ingredients, not sure if every other polish has such a long list of ingredients
Repurchase\Recommend: Yes I recommend it to all who are in look out for a base & top coat duo at affordable price!
